I had no idea what I was in store for as I got ready for my first day of work as a real person. I knew I wanted success. I knew I wanted work friends. I knew I hated wearing real pants, but I was excited because I never really got a chance to look nice "just because" without questions. I took a selfie for instagram and went on my way!
The first few days were fun. I got a chance to learn about the business and on paper everything seemed like a breeze! Then, you realize a real 9 to 5 doesn't exist. It's really 7 to 6. Which is fine, except I was up at 5 and home at 7 and never really get enough sleep and immediately started aging (at least in my mind I did).
And my parents made fun of me because I've only been at it for a week and "you're going to get used to it!" Well, let's be honest here. I'm still not used to it, I'm probably not going to be used to it for a while.
My feet hurt from not being able to wear flip flops and sneakers. My back and shoulders hurt from trying to figure out the right position to sit in front of the computer while typing. My head always seems to be pounding because I forget to drink water and I'm constantly worried about the next step. And let's face it- this bunny knows how it is.
Then I discovered happy hour is probably the happiest of hours and it makes the horrors of the day seem to fade. At least for a little while.
And at the end of the day, I have the best relationship with my bed. One I never thought possible. It'll just suck me in, like quicksand, and I'm out like a light!
